Industry Association's (SNIA) Data Management Forum (DMF) Board of Directors and appointed vice-chairman. In this position, he will be responsible for helping to lead the group as it defines, implements, qualifies and educates IT professionals regarding improved and reliable methods for the protection, retention and lifecycle management of electronic data and information.

"Asim's experience and expertise in the in the area of data management technology and information lifecycle management will be a tremendous asset in helping the DMF to establish interoperability among different and emerging technologies and services," said Michael Peterson, executive director for the DMF. As vice president of marketing for Archivas, Asim Zaheer is responsible for product management, the marketing communications strategy and go-to-market initiatives. Before joining Archivas, Asim was the vice president of Marketing at Storability Software, a storage resource management (SRM) company. Before Storability, Asim served in senior marketing management positions with IBM and Compaq/Digital, and was a member of the founding team that launched StorageWorks.
