Spare Backup(TM) Adds Faster Backups, Unlimited Storage, Unicode Support & More, Plus New $4.

PALM DESERT, Calif. -- Spare Backup(TM) Inc., a subsidiary of Newport International Group (OTCBB:NWPO), has enhanced its automated online PC backup service with new technology that reduces typical backup time to just a few minutes, along with unlimited storage space, Unicode support for global

users, and a variety of other new features. The new Spare Backup 2.5, available immediately, also offers a $4.99-a-month annual subscription in addition to the previous $6.99 monthly subscription. The service is designed for consumers, small office/home office users, and small to medium businesses that need an easy way to back up their data.

The Spare Backup service automatically backs up documents, email, music, photos and other PC files on a nightly basis or according to the schedule of the user's choice. It intelligently selects files for backup in preset categories, encrypts and uploads them to secure storage in two different data centers, and saves up to 10 versions of any given file.

New features in Version 2.5 include:

--Faster backups --- Instead of compiling a list of new and changed files when performing scheduled backups, Spare Backup now assembles the list in the background as files are created or altered. As a result, backups that used to take an hour because of list compilation at backup time now require just a few minutes.

--Unlimited storage space --- A standard Spare Backup subscription now includes virtually unlimited storage space, making it possible to accommodate large graphic files, presentations, photos, music files, and even all of the data on a small office's local file server. There may be an additional charge for commercial accounts with unusually large storage needs.

--Unicode support --- The Spare Backup service is now Unicode-compliant, allowing it to recognize special characters such as accents and umlauts in filenames.

--Single-file backup for Microsoft Outlook --- Spare Backup now backs up only new email messages instead of the entire mailbox, further reducing backup times and enabling recovery of individual Outlook items.

--Multiple recovery options --- Spare Backup can now recover one file, multiple selected files, or all files simultaneously with a few clicks. The service previously recovered only one file at a time.

--Improved remote access --- Users can access backed-up files from any Internet-connected PC anywhere, allowing files to be retrieved if their primary computer is down, if they are traveling without it, or if they simply need a file unexpectedly when their own computer is not available. Security is ensured by requiring three forms of ID, including a unique code number known only by the user.
