London-Based Company to be Anchor Tenant at Dewberry Capital's Two Peachtree Pointe
ATLANTA -- Dewberry Capital Corporation (DCC), an Atlanta-based holding company focused on the acquisition, development and management of real estate and corporate business assets, announced today INVESCO PLC, one of the world's leading investment management companies, is moving its corporate headquarters to Atlanta's landmark Two Peachtree Pointe building. The move will take place second quarter 2008.
Invesco's new global headquarters, projected to encompass 7 floors, comprising 178,000 square feet, will anchor Dewberry's Peachtree Pointe complex, which serves as the cornerstone of "Uptown" Atlanta, the city's premiere live, work and play neighborhood - a nexus of the finest companies, restaurants, residences, shops, culture and the arts. "I am delighted Invesco has decided to establish its corporate headquarters at Two Peachtree Pointe," said John Dewberry, CEO of DCC. "The company's move is a strong corporate stamp of approval for Uptown Atlanta, our mixed-use 'city within a city' development."
"We are excited to be moving into Two Peachtree Pointe, one of Atlanta's most dramatic new office buildings," said Martin L. Flanagan, Invesco President and CEO. "Our consolidation into this new space provides our global company an excellent site to grow our business." Invesco currently has $504.7 billion in assets under management for its retail, institution and private wealth management clients around the world. The company has more than 5,500 employees in 20 countries.
The company will consolidate 300 positions from its two existing Atlanta offices, with room for future expansion. Invesco was started in Atlanta in 1978 through a divestiture by C&S Bank and later moved its operations to London after it was purchased by a British company in 1988. It is scheduled to move its primary stock listing from the London Stock Exchange to the New York Stock Exchange Dec. 4.
"Clearly Invesco represents a stellar addition to the already thriving Uptown community, further enhancing its transformation into one of the most dynamic business centers in the region," added Dewberry about an area that presently includes professional service companies Equifax, Cox Communications, law firms Seyfarth Shaw and Jones Day, headquarters of the Federal Home Loan Bank, as well as the Atlanta campus of the world's largest art school, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Additionally, Peachtree Pointe will be home to a number of arts and entertainment establishments, including the Bill Lowe Galleries, Ansley Park Playhouse, Joli Kobe Cafe and Bakery, and several upscale boutiques and eateries.
