I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Michael Gerber - founder 30 years ago of e-Myth Worldwide and author of The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don’t Work and What to Do About It. He spoke at an international conference I attended in Dallas a week ago.

Michael, as anyone knows who has heard him, was engaging and humble. It was so refreshing to hear such a successful person who has helped countless millions of business owners with concepts like "working on the business rather than in the business" for entrepreneurs everywhere. He has freed business owners from being chained employees (of their own companies) to focusing on what is most important  - and going after that.  He talks about "liberation from doing, doing, doing."

Asked what he is about, Michael unequivocally stated, "My life is about creating". He currently has six companies going which he has launched in the past two years. He sounds most excited about In the Dreaming Room - a workshop that inspires business owners and helps them do what he calls, "intentional dreaming".

Michael Gerber raves about making mistakes.

"I make mistakes every single day," he stated.

My biggest takeaway came right from the eMyth basics:

Know what your dream is

Know what your mission is

Know what your purpose is

Know what your vision is

Then, design a company with you OUT of it. He said that if you fail to go to work for yourself to liberate yourself, then you need to find a way to get free of it.

No one really talks like this. He's earned his position with the audience, who could not get enough.

My question to you, reader and business builder, is - do you know dream/mission/purpose and vision? Post a comment on how this has changed the way you run your business or your piece within a business, or send me an email. I'll post the comments.
