Cape Cod, Mass., Technology Firm Separates from Lucent.

Jun. 3--The Cape's largest tech firm has gone private again.

Yesterday, Excel Switching Corp. officially parted ways with corporate parent Lucent Technologies.

The new Excel is now privately held by a syndicate led by Soros Private Equity Investors LP, a venture capital firm funded by billionaire and philanthropist George Soros.

Other investors include Oak Investment Partners, a private equity firm based in Westport, Conn.
