Fiber supplier Acordis, Bradford, U.K., has signed a letter of intent with Wuxi Taiji Company, Jiangsu, China, to form a joint venture for the production and sale of industrial polyester. Acordis--the fibers unit of chemical group Akzo Nobel, Arnhem, The Netherlands--reported the venture will take over Wuxi Taiji's industrial polyester plant and converting operations, while Acordis will contribute new technology and management skills.
