PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local AMERIYA CEMENT CO., a subsidiary of CIMPOR of Portugal, currently operates a cement plant with an installed production capacity of 2.3 million tons per year (t/y). And, the company recently awarded an expansion contract to a French/Egyptian joint venture. The partners in the planned undertaking include THYSSEN KRUPP POLYSIUS of France and the ORASCOM CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRIES (OCI) of Egypt, a subsidiary of ONSI SAWIRIS & CO. (ORASCOM).

According to the terms of the award, the partnership will be responsible for building another
