Knogo North America announces disposable target joint venture.

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 1996--KNOGO NORTH AMERICA INC. (ASE:KNA), a leading manufacturer of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) security systems, announced today it has acquired a majority interest in K&M Converting Corp. (KMCC), Monticello, Ind.

KMCC is a new joint venture

Knogo North America entered into with Marian Rubber Products Co., Inc., Indianapolis. KMCC shall be the exclusive converter of all disposable target material used in the company's EAS systems.

According to Thomas A. Nicolette, president and chief executive officer of KNA, "Our partnership with Marian, a reliable, long term supplier to the company, will give KNA more control over cost, design and quality of our fastest growing source of recurring revenue, disposable targets. Looking ahead, as the installed base of EAS systems grow, KMCC should be a major contributor of profits to KNA."

KNOGO NORTH AMERICA INC. designs, manufactures, sells and services EAS and Closed Circuit Video equipment in the United States and Canada to deter shoplifting and other types of theft for retailers, supermarkets, libraries and commercial enterprises. KNOGO NORTH AMERICA INC. is a spin-off of KNOGO Corp., founder of the EAS Industry almost 30 years ago.
