COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 23, 2002

FileNET Corporation (Nasdaq:FILE), the leading provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions, today announced that Abilene Christian University (ACU), in Abilene, Texas offering

70 baccalaureate majors across three colleges, has selected FileNET Web Content Management (WCM) as its standard for all ACU Web sites. The solution will enable ACU to achieve a consistent look and feel on the Web, while ensuring that information presented is consistent across content created by all departments.

"Before implementing FileNET WCM, we had no centralized management control over Web content or its presentation, so information was often inconsistent across sites and content for various departments," says James Langford, director of Web integration and programming at ACU. "Web pages for some departments, for example, described courses in great detail and provided schedules and information about professors, but others only provided sketchy information. With FileNET WCM, that problem will be completely resolved -- all Web pages will meet enterprise-wide standards, all will have the same look and feel, and all will remain accurate and up to date."

ACU selected FileNET WCM due to its ease of use characteristics, which provide non-technical users with the ability to easily update and manage Web site content. In addition, the system has enabled ACU to begin launching the new site in a much shorter period of time than with manual methods, providing additional cost savings as the University rolls out future Web initiatives.

FileNET WCM also provides ACU with the ability to preview content in a development environment before finally posting it on the live Web site. The solution supports automated workflows that ensure all content published to the Web receives all of the required approvals.

"Many institutions and enterprises, having established a Web presence over the last several years, are now trying to improve their sites," said Michael W. Harris, FileNET's senior vice president of products & strategy. "Some sites may need to leverage existing resources and expand and others may really benefit from a makeover that simplifies its presentation. FileNET WCM is the ideal solution for these enterprises because it provides the tools to automate these updates, while also enabling strong centralized management control over Web content and the Web publishing process."
