TRONDHEIM, Norway & FREEHOLD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 30, 2004

MaXware International AS, a leading global provider of modular and scalable enterprise-wide Identity Management solutions, today announced the next version of its Virtual

Directory enterprise solution and its new Active Directory password hook for its data synchronization and provisioning offerings, resulting in additional identity management functionality across the MaXware Identity Management Suite.

Providing real-time and secure LDAP access to numerous disparate directories, databases and other data sources, the MaXware Virtual Directory (MVD) organizes them into a single, virtual directory tree. The latest version of Virtual Directory will add a highly-configurable "In Memory" Cache mechanism that will enhance the performance and throughput to levels often required by demanding markets such as the telecommunications sector. The caching mechanism can be enabled /disabled per data source, allowing users to cache information from the slower connected repositories while using real-time information from their local data repositories.

In addition, MaXware has added an Active Directory password hook to its ExpresSync, and Data Synchronization Engine (DSE) offerings as well as its Identity Center provisioning solution, which enables Active Directory password changes to be automatically replicated to other applications. Active Directory Password hook functionality varies per each MaXware offering. With ExpresSync, password changes in Active Directory can be replicated to another application due to ExpresSync's trapping of password changes and distribution of the new password to a targeted system. For DSE, password changes in Active Directory can be replicated to multiple applications and with Identity Center, password change distribution can be part of the workflow processes or applied as separate workflow processes.

"By incorporating these new capabilities into our Identity Management suite, we are reinforcing our commitment to provide our customers with superior identity management solutions," said Tore Wold, president & CEO of MaXware International AS. "With MaXware, companies are granted the peace of mind that their identity management and data synchronization initiatives will run smoothly, enabling them to focus on their core business."
