IRVINE, Calif. -- Kofax (LSE:DCM), the world's largest information capture vendor, today proudly announced that President and CEO Rick Murphy was recognized in Computer Reseller News' (CRN) "2004 Top 25 Executives" issue. The prestigious annual roundup of top technology leaders named Murphy in the "Content Kings" category, identifying him as one of the most influential executives in the fast-growing market of content technologies and applications.
"I'm proud that CRN recognizes Kofax as a company that is truly redefining the concept of information capture," said Murphy. "As imaging applications continue to become more integrated with business process automation, Kofax is evolving to provide our partners and customers with unmatched information capture solutions. With our long-standing commitment to our channel partners, I am especially proud that this recognition comes from a publication that serves the channel community."
Murphy was instrumental in creating Kofax's worldwide network of Certified Solution Providers (CSP) and has over 35 years' experience in the computer industry. Before joining Kofax in 1989, he was vice president of North American Sales for Emulex Corp. Murphy was appointed to the DICOM Group board of directors in March of 2004 and is widely considered to be a driving factor behind Kofax's leadership position in the information capture market.
In addition to being recognized in CRN's Top 25 Executives issue, Kofax has received numerous industry accolades for its industry-leading information capture products, most recently in Orange County Business Journal's (OCBJ) list of "Top Computer Software Companies" and KM World's "100 Companies that Matter" list, which recognized the company's outstanding information capture solutions.
Kofax has also been successful in securing high-profile customer installations and corporate deals for its Ascent Capture platform and VRS technology, including a five-year $20 million blanket purchase agreement with the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) that the company secured exclusively through channel partner Quality Associates Inc., a Kofax CSP. In addition, Kofax technologies have recently been installed at Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), an entity responsible for processing traffic collision reports at the State of Washington; and Trust Services, a national trust-owned service company that acts as a financial management arm for trusts involved in silica and asbestos claims.
