Oglebay Institute and Chase Launch Program to Give Thousands of Students Experiences in the Arts.

WHEELING, W.Va. -- JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) and Oglebay Institute have partnered to present the Chase REACH Program, designed to give thousands of Ohio and West Virginia students valuable experiences in environmental and arts education.

Oglebay Institute and local Chase representatives

unveiled details of the new program September 19 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center during a breakfast for area school superintendents.

The Resources for Environment, Arts, Culture and Humanities (REACH) program, funded by the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, provides opportunities for schools to enhance or fulfill curriculum in these academic areas through participation in educational programming conducted by Oglebay Institute, West Virginia's largest private arts organization.

During the 2006-2007 academic year, nearly 2,000 children, mostly from elementary and middle schools in Ohio, Belmont and Jefferson counties with the involvement of some private schools, will participate in the REACH program.

"Participation in the arts is extremely important to child development; yet, many schools lack funding for these areas," Oglebay Institute President Mark Williams said. "Thanks to the philanthropic efforts of JPMorgan Chase, arts and environmental education in the Upper Ohio Valley just got a big boost."

"The REACH program nurtures creativity and exploration of the natural world; thus, enriching the lives of many youth people," he added.

"Oglebay Institute has touched the lives of thousands of children in our area through the years, and we are proud to support the Chase REACH program to help even more students experience science and humanities," said Brad Blair, President of Chase in the Ohio Valley. "An important goal for Chase is to support education, and Oglebay Institute's Chase REACH program is a perfect match."
