ARAMARK (NYSE:RMK), a world leader in managed services, was ranked the No. 1 company in "Diversified Outsourcing Services" in FORTUNE Magazine's new ranking of "America's Most Admired Companies."
ARAMARK, which moved into the Top 50 Most Admired Companies overall, captured the No. 1 ranking in the Outsourcing category for the first time. In the overall ranking, ARAMARK rose dramatically
"We are extremely proud of our people and their success in creating measurable economic value for our customers," said Joseph Neubauer, Chairman and CEO of ARAMARK. "We have accomplished this by working to build and expand `unlimited partnerships' with each of our customers."
ARAMARK received its highest ratings ever in virtually every attribute measured in this year's FORTUNE survey - including "quality of management," "financial soundness," "quality of products/services," "long-term investment value," "innovativeness," and "social responsibility." Of all the attributes measured this year, the company received its highest rating for "quality of management."
To conduct the ranking, FORTUNE commissioned the Hay Group consultancy to study the 10 largest companies (by revenues) in 58 industries. They then asked 10,000 executives, directors, and securities analysts to rate the companies in their own industries based on a criteria of eight categories.
