Shell working to complete DEA merger. (Europe).(Brief Article)

Germany -- In December, Anglo-Dutch petroleum giant Shell was prepared to give up some of its service stations to allow a controversial merger with German company DEA, the Shell spokesman in Germany, Klaus Picard, said.

The German Federal Cartel office had previously said it plans to veto the merger on anti-competitive grounds.

"We are in touch with the Cartel Office and we are prepared to fulfill the obligations," Picard said in an interview with the newspaper Berliner Zeitung. He did not say how many service stations Shell would be ready to give up.
