ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2000

Delta Air Lines today announces a new service expansion from the Middle East to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). New flights from Tel Aviv, Cairo and Dubai will start in June 2001.

In making

this announcement, Mark A.P. Drusch, Senior Vice President, Network Management said, "These services continue to build upon Delta's No.1 position in New York where we offer flights to more destinations than any other airline. This expansion underscores Delta's commitment to offering services between all major regions of the world and New York."

In June 2001, Delta will offer a daily nonstop flight between Tel Aviv, Israel and New York-JFK. Delta will service the largest Middle East destination from New York with MD-11 aircraft featuring award-winning BusinessElite service. This new flight will be in addition to Delta's newly announced partnership with El Al beginning spring 2001.

Delta also will begin nonstop service between Cairo, Egypt, continuing on to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from New York-JFK. This flight will operate three times per week on MD-11 aircraft. Cairo is the second largest U.S.-Middle East market while Dubai is one of the region's leading business centers.

This announcement offers several firsts, such as Delta's first nonstop service from Tel Aviv, Israel, to the U.S. Additionally, Delta will be the first U.S. carrier with service to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

"Delta is committed to giving travelers access to all regions of the globe from New York, the world's largest travel market," said Drusch.

Delta recently announced plans to embark on a $1.6 billion terminal expansion and redevelopment project at New York-JFK. Upon completion of the project in 2004, Delta's customers will benefit from additional flights and more convenient service to international and U.S. markets.

Delta's goal is to become the No.1 airline in the eyes of its customers, flying passengers and cargo from anywhere to everywhere. Passengers already choose to fly Delta more often than any other airline in the world on 5,244 flights each day to 339 cities in 48 countries on Delta, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle, the Delta Connection carriers, and Delta's Worldwide Partners. Delta is a founding member of SkyTeam, a global airline alliance which provides customers with extensive worldwide destinations, flights and services.
