Taft-led trade mission trolls for biz deals in Asia.(Technology)

Ohio isn't just about cars and steel anymore - it's also about stem cells, liquid crystals and medical devices.

That's the message Gov. Bob Taft hopes he got out to the hundreds of Japanese and Taiwanese government officials and business leaders with whom he and 71 Ohioans met during a weeklong trade mission to Asia.

"If they didn't realize that Ohio has a very strong foundation in bioscience before we went, now they realize it,'' Gov. Taft said. "We really put Ohio on the map as a state to consider doing business with.
