"With nine production facilities across the country, we are constantly shifting production capacity to meet demand and ensure that we're operating as efficiently as possible," stated Stuart Leigh, president of Lasco Bathware. "With these adjustments, it's important to stress that our existing customers will not be affected and will continue to receive the quality and level of customer service they have come to rely on."
In the interest of maintaining and improving customer service, inventories at the plant will be increased.
While customers will not see any impact in service due to the recent changes, the current workforce will be affected. "Although this decision is in the best interest of our operational strategy and constant need to address market trends, we regret it anytime adjustments result in displacing a dedicated workforce," said Leigh.
As regional business conditions improve, the company will look at the possibility of re-activating manufacturing operations at the plant, as well as opportunities to re-hire employees.
