What we see in the big picture of human history is a struggle for resources and power in an ever-increasing frenzy, leading to bloody conflicts and a trend toward global power by large nations. However, the diversity of languages and cultures in our world shows us an older human state, that of a multitude of independent small groups, each relating to their environment in their own way.
