Interphase Corporation (Nasdaq:INPH), an international supplier of next-generation networking technologies, today announced the appointment of Randall D. Ledford, senior vice president and chief technology officer

Dr. Ledford is currently responsible for leading the strategic technical direction of Emerson Electric, advising it on technology acquisitions and directing strategic investment programs for research and development, as well as new product investments. He is also president of the internal Emerson Electric subsidiary investing in technology venture companies. Before joining Emerson Electric, Ledford was president and general manager of several divisions of Texas Instruments Inc. including software, digital imaging, enterprise solutions and process automation. He began his career at Bell Telephone Laboratories where he worked on UNIX development, fiber optic communication and microwave transmissions.

Dr. Ledford has an extensive background in engineering, science and business having earned a Ph.D. in physics from Duke University, publishing over 80 professional journal articles and holding over 20 patents. He assumes a recently created seat on the board bringing its total number to seven. Ledford also serves on several other technical companies' board of directors and on chief technical officer boards and forums both in the U.S. and abroad.
