THE supervisory board of German Rail (DB) has unanimously agreed to a restructuring that reduces the number of operating divisions from five to three.
The new divisions are: passenger traffic, transport and logistics, and a new one called infrastructure and services, which is responsible for the former sectors covering track, passenger stations, and services. The transformation also means that sectors such as DB Regio, DB's long-distance passenger operation, Schenker logistics, and the Railion freight operation will report directly to the management board.
