AUGAT APPOINTS SAM SMOOKLER VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF INTERCONNECTION PRODUCTS...
MANSFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--February 21, 1995 -- Augat Inc. (NYSE:AUG) today announced the appointment of Sam Smookler as vice president and general manager of Augat's Interconnection Products Division.
"Sam brings with him a wealth of experience as a general manager and, through his
Smookler returned to Augat in November 1994 as vice president of sales and marketing of the Interconnection Products Division. From 1992 to 1994 he was general manager for the passive and millimeter wave products area of M/A-COM Inc. and from 1986 to 1992 he held the position of group vice president at Sipex. Smookler was vice president and general manager of the Alco Switch division of Augat's Interconnection Products Division from 1982 to 1986. Prior to his initial service with Augat, Smookler compiled 20 years' general manager experience. He earned a B.S. of Engineering degree from C. W. Post College of Long Island University.
In assuming his new responsibilities, Smookler replaces Kevin Walker, who has resigned to pursue other opportunities.
