Advanced Photonix Announces Replacement of ItsIndependent Auditor; Appointment of Schmidt to CFO.

Advanced Photonix, Inc.(R) (AMEX:API), the leading developer and manufacturer of large avalanche photodiodes (LAAPD), today announced that it had replaced Arthur Andersen LLP with Farber & Hass
It stated that the purpose of this change was to reduce audit expenses and that Advanced Photonix had no substantive disagreements with Arthur Andersen LLP.
Advanced Photonix also announced that Susan Schmidt has been appointed as its Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, effective March 28. Schmidt brings with her an extensive and varied financial background and has worked with multiple manufacturing, distribution and retail organizations over the past 14 years.
