New York— Tim Adams has been named chairman of Macy's Home Store, effective July 25.
Adams has been chairman of Burdine's, now called Macy's Florida, the Miami-based division of Macy's parent Federated Department Stores.
At the Home Store, he succeeds Eric Salus,
Adams, 51, joined Burdine's from another Federated division, Seattle-based The Bon Marche (now Macy's Northwest), in 2001. He had been president of The Bon since 1998. He began his career at Macy's in Atlanta in 1976 and moved in 1989 to Macy's West in San Francisco.
Federated said it will soon name a successor to Adams as chairman of the 61-unit Macy's Florida division.
Macy's Home Store here is responsible for the centralized buying, merchandising, and marketing of home furnishings for the company's 423 Macy's stores.
