Starbucks Announces Management Promotions

In a move the company hopes will aid its global expansion plans, Starbucks promoted three members of its executive management team. Topping the list of moves was appointing Martin Coles to chief operating officer of Starbucks Coffee International.

In his new role, Coles will manage

the coffee giant’s U.S. and international store operations and development, global consumer products group and supply chain operations.

Replacing Coles as president of Starbucks Coffee International is Jim Alling, who joined the company in 1997 after a lengthy career with Nestle. Assuming Alling’s role as president of Starbucks Coffee U.S. is Launi Skinner. Previously, Skinner served as Starbucks’ senior vice president, store development.
