WYOMISSING, Pa. -- Carpenter Technology Corporation (NYSE:CRS) announced today the appointment of a distinguished attorney, Oliver C. Mitchell, Jr., as its new Senior Vice President - General Counsel and Secretary. The appointment is effective today.
Mitchell brings to Carpenter a long
Mitchell has held a number of non-legal posts as part of his public service. He was appointed by the then-Governor of Massachusetts, William F. Weld, to the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. Later, he was appointed by Michigan Governors John Engler and by Jennifer Granholm, his successor in office, to the Board of Directors of the Michigan State Appellate Defender Commission, where he later was elected Chairman. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Judicial College, in Reno, Nevada.
Effective September 4, Mitchell will serve as Senior Vice President-General Counsel and Secretary, reporting to Anne Stevens, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.
