New York SCT and Metropolitan New York PCA to sponsor Green Chemistry symposium.

The New York Society for Coatings Technology and the Metropolitan New York Paint & Coatings Association will host a symposium on "Green Chemistry for Coatings and Related Industries." To be held on April 8, 2008, at The Landmark Restaurant, East Rutherford, NJ, the symposium will examine green coatings

as the wave of the future. The program will analyze its environmental culture, economic concerns, the accompanying regulatory issues.

Additional topics include the requirements for Green Seal certification, green raw materials, programs to implement green technology and the potential for green coatings.

The symposium scheduled presentations include the following:

"NAVSEA Talk" -- Mark Ingle

"Future of Green Coatings" -- Jason Agagnostis, Benjamin Moore

"Green Biocides" -- William Wood, ISP

"Environmental Iron Oxide Pigments" -- Burl Bowman Hoover, Iron Oxides

"Sustainable Coatings" -- Stewart Williams, Paint Quality Institute

Registration for the symposium is $65 for members and $75 for non-members.
