RAFFLES RESORT TO OPEN ON CANOUAN. The island of Canouan (part of
St. Vincent & the Grenadines) will be the site of the grand opening
of Raffles Resort Canouan Island on July 15, and the unveiling of Trump
Island Villas later in the year:
Canouan Resorts Development (CRD) has brought
together high-profile
partners to turn Canouan Island, one of the last undeveloped islands in
the Caribbean, into a major, multi-faceted vacation destination. When
the resort redesign is complete, Raffles International Hotels and
Resorts will manage the 156-room luxury resort formerly known as
Carenage Bay, as well as Raffles' Amrita Spa and the new Trump
International Golf Club at Raffles Resort Canouan Island, an 18-hole
championship golf course designed by Jim Fazio. Donald J. Trump is
spearheading the island's villa real estate development and will
manage the Trump Club Privee Casino. The resort is set on 300 acres of a
1,200 acre private estate surrounded by green hills, secluded white
beaches and the Caribbean sea. Designed by the Italian architect Luigi
Vietti, the resort's 156 accommodations--a mix of one-bedrooms,
suites and villas--have breathtaking views of the sea. Special opening
rates will start at US$298;
Trump Island Villas will consist of luxury villas and estate
properties set on 1,000 acres of mountainous terrain. The first phase
will consist of 10 Golf Villas and 15 custom-designed Estates. Sales of
the villas are scheduled to begin in the summer of 2004, with prices
starting at US$1 million for the Golf Villas and US$2.7 million for the
Estate properties. Details: 1-877-CANOUAN.
