The 9th annual Group of Fifteen (G-15) Summit will be held in Montego Bay, Jamaica during the week of February 9-14, 1999. A trade show, organized by Jampro (Jamaica's economic development agency), the Jamaica Manufacturers' Association and the Jamaica Exporters' Association is being planned to coincide with the event. The trade show will incorporate the biennial JMA/JEA Expo and it is expected that Jamaican manufacturers will have the opportunity to showcase their products to customers from member countries of the G-15:
. The Group of Fifteen was established as a summit level group of developing countries in September 1989 following the conclusion of the 9th Non-Aligned Summit meeting in Belgrade (Yugoslavia). It aims to strengthen the potential benefits from mutual cooperation among developing countries, especially in the areas of investment, trade and technology. By acting as a catalyst for South-South cooperation, the G-15 aims to facilitate national efforts for development and economic progress; . Member countries of the G-15 are: Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, Senegal, Venezuela and Zimbabwe. The trade show is to be held in the Montego Bay Free Zone where the exhibit area is expected to have over 200 booths.
