CHARTER WIRES COSTA RICA INTO SATELLITE NET.

Charter Communications International, Inc. [OTCBB:CHTD], based in Houston, Tex., said April 22 it has connected Costa Rica to the firm's U.S. and Latin American satellite telecommunications network. The firm said it just opened the first facility in San Jose, Costa Rica, and will connect customers

using a new private satellite teleport there. Charter said it has license agreements in place with Radiografica Costarricense, S.A. (RACSA) and Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) to let it connect customers to both on-premises satellite earth stations and multiple user satellite teleports in Costa Rica. The firm recently extended its license to access the Mexico-owned Solidaridad satellite system. Charter's site on the World Wide Web is at http://www.c-com.net.
