COFFEE CROP ESTIMATED AT 2.84 MILLION BAGS.

Costa Rican coffee production is seen coming in at around 2,840,000 46-kg bags in the 2003/04 harvest, which begins in October, reports Reuteres (June 20, 2003). Costa Rica Coffee Institute director Juan Bautistas Moya said that while many coffee producers have failed to tend their crops well

this harvest, a long rainy season allowed for excellent flowers, promising a strong crop. "This is an initial projection, now it all depends on how well we care for our plantations," he said.
