US$22 MILLION HOTEL IN BAYAMON. The city of Bayamon finally will have its first hotel when the US$22 million San Miguel Plaza project opens it doors this December, said Juan Antonio San Miguel, president of developing firm San Miguel Plaza S.E., reports Caribbean Business (July 27, 2005).The

San Miguel Plaza project a 44-room hotel, restaurant, and an 82-unit independent living elderly housing complex in an "L"-shaped, 10-story, 152,000-sq ft structure on a 2,464 square-meter lot on the northeast corner of Santa Cruz Street and PR2, next to San Pablo Hospital. Westernbank is financing construction of the project. The hotel will cater mainly to the medical staff, patients, and relatives who visit San Pablo Hospital and its support locations, as well as pharmaceutical-company representatives who don't want to stay in San Juan or Isla Verde, noted San Miguel.
