Digimarc ID Systems, LLC, a subsidiary of Digimarc Corp. (Bedford MA), said June 20 that it has completed installation in Costa Rica of the world's first digital national identity card program for minors. The system will issue a Costa Rica national ID card to citizens under the age of 18 and help it fight identity card fraud by registering the identities and images of minors living in the country. A program to issue national ID cards to adult Costa Rican citizens has been operating for several years.
