AllBusiness Readers Rate Their Payroll Systems

We surveyed you, the readers of AllBusiness.com, in February 2006 to find out what payroll systems you have used in your businesses and how you have liked them. This was not a scientific poll, but a reader survey, open to anyone who chose to respond. Here are the results culled from 845 responses.

1. How do you process payroll?

First, we asked how you process payroll. Just over one-third of you found this question not applicable, presumably because payroll processing isn’t your responsibility. The use of in house software was the most popular choice for payroll processing. There was a close three-way race for the next position among manual processing, online service and outsourcing.
