Track and Talk to Pets Via Collar-Based Cell Phone

To enhance the safety and comfort of dogs and other pets, a waterproof, voice-enabled cell phone was recently created by PetsMobility, Inc., based in Scottsdale, AZ.

For instance, if the pet is lost and wandering through neighborhoods, a person who finds the pet can press the phone's "call owner" button, which automatically dials the owner's phone number. The owner can then speak with the person and make arrangements to retrieve the pet.

In addition, if the pet leaves a designated area, determined through companion geo-fence, the phone can automatically alert pet owner by e-mail, text message, or voice message.

The device even lets owners call their pets from a remote location, to say comforting words such as, "I'll be home soon."
