Workholding systems and accessories

Four high-density tower and pallet workholding systems are designed with serrated surfaces that match and align with serrated, moveable jaw modules to provide modular, high-precision workholding. An eight and 12-clamping-station tower and two different multiple-station pallet systems will be on display

The SeraLack workholding systems use 1.5 and 2-in.-wide WedgeLock combination moveable and stationary jaws and 3.5-in.-wide MoveLock two-piece modular vises. Serrations on the mating surfaces of the workholding components are precisely machined to create an exact match with serrations on the tower and pallet surfaces.

When these clamping components are mounted to the lower and pallet, the opposing serrations come together and interlock, forming a rigid, level, and repeatable interface. Matching serrations automatically align the surfaces.

Also at the Kurt booth is an expanded selection of workholding accessories including magnetic workstops and jaws. The new magnetic workstops use a powerful rare-earth magnet for attachment anywhere on a workholding setup without the need for connecting bolts and screws. Magnetic jaws hold parallels for easy and precise part clamping. Jaws are supplied as a set with two jaw plates each embedded with the magnet for holding the parallels in place. These jaws free hands for holding and damping the workpiece.
