Lisa is entirely correct in bring about the fact that "The only person you can control is YOU". But unfortunately our young manager who wants to know what difference we make in an organization feels frustrated because HIS/HER EGO is wanting a recognition or praise for every act that they do. They feel that changing procedures or processes is making a difference. Infact the difference that is most rewarding is the difference in the work atmosphere where evry one feels happy and there is a joy when every employee says, " I am happy that it is Monday & I love to go to work" and not the opposite. Let our young manager feel different to change his mindset.

Your Management Questions #8
I got frustrated with the too-minimal approach Basecamp had, so we've been working in an alternative.

We're about to begin our beta testing. We support more flexible to-dos, with deadlines and costs, printer-friendly pages, visual writeboards, note pages, 3rd party plugins, etc.

In the future we'll be adding time tracking and gannt charts. I feel your experience could help us developing a better solution for the rest of us. If you're interested, just drop me an email: pablo at saiku dot es!

I started purchasing Ergonomic Chairs for our office and our staff are happier and more productive. I've been purchasing from these guys: www.sitbetter.com They have very good resources also. Hi Lisa, Yes you can hide the not required modules. In fact it is a bit overwhelming to start with but I am glad I chose it. Our productivity has improved significantly and we are able to do a lot of things in time and budget. Their client collaboration is free and our clients love that!

Lisa, Great to read about you on your trip. Hope all is going well. I just got back from Dallas and stayed at a Hyatt - now THAT was very nice - fantastic cozy soft-but-firm enough beds, real food, and while somewhat remote, seemed to have it all (except Starbucks). Enjoy the road, and know we're living vicariously through you and Hazel.... Lori ...
