David Kolbe, CEO of Kolbe Corp, has lived and breathed the Kolbe System from its inception. The son of pioneering theorist and author Kathy Kolbe, David joined the company in 1997 as General Counsel and became President in 2001. After leading the company to double-digit annual growth, he was named Chief Executive in 2004. He has primary responsibility for strategic planning, corporate development and finance, as well as direct oversight of the company’s operational, technical and legal efforts.
As one of the architects of the Kolbe System,™ David Kolbe played a key role in the development of the company’s online assessment tools and job performance forecasting software. A frequent speaker and panelist at industry conferences, Kolbe is an expert on hiring, retention and organizational development issues. He regularly conducts training seminars on the Kolbe System for businesses and individuals across the country.
Before coming to Kolbe Corp, David worked as an attorney for the Phoenix law firm of Gammage and Burnham, where he specialized in land use and commercial litigation. Prior to that, he served as a Legislative Director in Washington, D.C. for a Texas Congressman.
Kolbe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied multinational management and political science. He received his law degree from Arizona State University, where he was admitted as a Regent’s Scholar.
David Kolbe serves on the Board of Directors of HomeBase Youth Services, and on the Advisory Board for the Center for the Study of Law, Science and Technology at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. He is also an active member of Arizona Town Hall and the Arizona Technology Council.
