pass-along circulation

publication’s audience consisting of those readers who have not received a copy by purchase or request. Passalong readers may receive copies from the original subscriber or purchaser, such as a family member or the public library. The total audience of a publication is the sum of its paid and nonpaid subscribers and its pass-along readers.
