BudgetPulse Offers a Fundraising Feature

Tuesday, November 10 2009

There are a number of interesting financial management programs out there, and one of them is BudgetPulse, a free personal finance web site that offers the ability to set goals and help you reach them. And now, there is a fundraising feature that can help you better manage help from friends and family. Craig Kessler is one of my personal finance associates, and he sent me a press release describing the new fundraising feature offered by BudgetPulse:

“We understand individuals, charities, teams, and others may need help raising money for their goals,” says Craig Kessler, marketing director for BudgetPulse.com.  “Friends and family are most likely going to be contacted first when asking for help raising funds.  Now our customers can collect funds (via PayPal or Amazon, or pledge money) and budget the goals transactions within the personal budgeting software so they can keep organized and don’t have to use multiple systems.”

The website is a centralized location eliminating difficulties consumers face when handling money via checks and cash from multiple contributors in one place they raised and trying to track it all in a separate program.  All money collected through PayPal or Amazon can be done through the site and all budgeting will take place on the site as well.
The feature makes it easy to collect funds from others, whether you need parents to pay sports dues, whether you are raising money for an Eagle Scout project or whether you just need a little help getting by this month. Plus, you can keep track of your savings goal, and how close you are to reaching it.

It's an interesting concept, and one that can ease transactions. However, it is important to note that there may be fees involved, since you are using third-party payment providers like PayPal and Amazon.
