Beitler, Reschke nail Loop parcel, but tower faces stiff competition

Two big-name developers with deep pockets and established track records are reviving talk of another "world's tallest building" project here.

J. Paul Beitler and Michael Reschke, already partners in a proposed Loop development at the former Montgomery Ward & Co. site, last week acquired a Wacker Drive parcel and plan a mixed-use building taller than any other.
