Was John Doerr Right?(venture capitalist predicted Internet growth)(Industry Trend or Event)

Venture capitalist John Doerr predicted in 1995 that Internet startups would create more wealth than PC companies did in the 1980s. The 'Internet decade' is half over, and the sector is coming remarkably close to Doerr's projections in some ways while falling lower in others. Doerr expected a key group of Internet stocks to reach $100 billion in revenue, but the firms are only 13 percent of the way there. Total market capitalization has already exceeded Doerr's expectations; 106 pure-play Internet firms are worth $359.1 billion on paper. Such wealth leaders include Amazon.com, Yahoo, Pricel
