STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2000

Three leading analysts examine the Household Products & Personal Care industry

in the latest issue of The Wall Street Transcript (212/952-7433) or http://www.twst.com/info/info116.htm

1) Personal Care & Household Products - In an in-depth (5,400 words) Analyst Interview, William Steele, Managing Director at Banc of America Securities, discusses the outlook for the sector and shares specific stock recommendations.

Steele explains his Strong Buy rating on Avon (NYSE:AVP), "The company's management team, led by Andrea Jung, I think is really addressing the longer-term issues that are facing Avon, which are A, improve the cachet, and B, improve the access. You're seeing Andrea and her team very quickly address these initiatives, and we're projecting that an Internet initiative will be launched by the company in the third quarter. We think they will launch a retail initiative in 2001. It's a much more proactive than reactive team."

Steele details the Internet initiative at Avon, "If we look at Avon's launch into the Internet, which, as I said, should occur in the third quarter, obviously, from a cachet point of view, this will be a positive. From an expense point of view, this will also be a positive. A majority of Avon's distribution is basically pick-and-pack; it is made for the Internet. I think the combination of bringing more reps online, making them more efficient and lowering ordering costs is potent."

This 26-page Household Products & Personal Care issue also features:
