Jan. 15--DEAD KANGAROOS DON'T BOUNCE, DO THEY? I am at a loss to make out whether Macquarie Bank's bid for the London Stock Exchange (LSE) is an Australian's idea of a joke or whether Macquarie's executives have been overdoing the amber nectar.

What is clear to me though is that it's the worst thought out proposal since Sir Gerreeee Robinson, of "I'll Show Them Who's Boss" fame, provided us with so much pre-Christmas amusement with his daft overtures to Rentokil.
