B of A aims for broader horizons; Firm makes huge planning push.(News)

NEW YORK - Bank of America Corp. is making a dramatic push to grab more financial planning business.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based banking behemoth, which boasts more branches than any other bank in the country, is consolidating its financial planning and advice businesses in Boston. The move, announced in September, marks the first step in its plan to become a dominant player in the advice business.
