Broad Stock Index Adds Four Norfolk, Va.-Area Companies.

Jul. 1--The Dow Jones industrial average has age and stature, but the Russell 3000 index has breadth.

The scope of the Russell 3000 widened with the additions Monday night of 288 companies, including 20 based in Virginia. Four of these are companies with head...uarters in Hampton Roads. The additions made up for companies that no longer ...ualified for the index or that disappeared through mergers.
