Investment Adviser: Can you tell us something about the origin of ethical funds in the UK?

Ted Scott: We were the first fund to launch an ethical in 1984, called the Stewardship Growth Fund. We followed it with launch of the Stewardship Income in 1987. Because of the early success of Stewardship funds, several competitors were attracted to the ethical funds marketplace. Undoubtedly, the market has come a long way, but it is still a relatively small part of the UK investment funds universe.
