The U.S. Small Business Administration Announces NewHead of Financing and Economic Development...

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 4, 1997--Bob Meredith, Seattle District Office announced today the promotion of Lynda "Lyn" Hamilton to the position of assistant district director for Economic Development.

As the head of economic development activities Hamilton will oversee the operations

of all financing and portfolio management programs, including the surety bond guaranty program. Last year the Seattle District Office and participating banks provided over $187 million in financing for more than 900 small businesses in Western Washington.

Hamilton, a native of Washington state, attended Central Washington State University. She began her career at the SBA in 1983 after 14 years in commercial and mortgage banking. The first 8 years with the SBA she spent as a processing loan officer in the Finance Division and in 1992 was named chief.

"Lynda Hamilton has proven herself to be an extremely effective manager. This is especially important as she oversees all of the finance and economic programs of this very busy office," said Meredith. The Seattle SBA District Office is the largest District Office in Region X, and encompasses most of Western Washington.
