MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 30, 2000

As banks and governments around the world seek ways to curb money laundering, John Daly, president of Americas Software, and his team of software developers have found an answer: a software program

that tracks money laundering activities.

Creator of the ASSIST//customerknowledge software, Daly has provided some of the world's largest banks with the key to the cumbersome, nearly impossible mandated task of scouring records to detect transactions common to illegal money laundering activities.

Based on personalized profiles of transaction trends, the ASSIST program gives the banks the tool they need to address regulatory issues of the Bank Secrecy Act, existing anti-money laundering controls, international mandates and Know Your Customer banking legislation.

Daly, who created his banking software company in 1985, has already sold the client server-based program to banks in the United States, Central America, South America, Europe and Asia.

"We are developing the most advanced technological advanced solutions for the banking industry," Daly said. "We offer the best transaction trend monitoring and money laundering detection software on the planet. ASSIST//ck provides banks with a dependable, efficient, easy-to-use system that keeps them in compliance with international regulations and standards."

Americas Software also offers clients system development, installation, training, and technical follow-up.

Citibank has purchased Americas Software system for their private banking operations worldwide. The sophisticated program develops unique account profiles based on historic data. It provides daily, weekly and monthly reports of suspicious account activity - large deposits and withdrawals and international exchanges, for example - based on irregular transaction volume and amounts.

Daly, a former Olympic athlete in Puerto Rico, has since 1985 learned the business of banking while designing and programming banking systems. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Daly placed 10th in swimming competitions in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, was a finalist in the 1975 Pan American Games, and earned five medals in the 1974 Central American games.
