UBS Sponsors Third Annual Art Basel Miami Beach; Works by More Than 1,000 Leading Artists...

NEW YORK -- UBS announced today its sponsorship of the Art Basel Miami Beach international art show for a third consecutive year. The show will feature 195 of the world's top galleries exhibiting 20th and 21st century works by more than 1,000 leading artists, as well as a program of special exhibitions

and crossover events. Art Basel Miami Beach will be held from December 2-5, 2004 at the Miami Convention Center in Miami Beach, Florida.

As a main sponsor, UBS will be hosting several events during the course of the show, including a gala dinner for clients and art enthusiasts on the eve of the show's opening. UBS will also have its own lounge where clients can mingle with UBS executives, artists and art collectors.

"UBS is delighted to announce its support of the Art Basel Miami Beach show for a third year," said John Costas, Chairman and CEO of UBS Investment Bank. "Our involvement in Art Basel Miami Beach and its sister event, Art Basel, is an important part of UBS' ongoing commitment to the arts and culture worldwide."

UBS has been the main sponsor of Art Basel, the world's largest and most prestigious show for modern and contemporary art, held annually in Basel, Switzerland, since 1994. This year's show, held in June, attracted 52,000 visitors.

In addition to Art Basel and Art Basel Miami Beach, UBS is involved in several other arts sponsorships. We will be the presenting sponsor of the "From Van Gogh to Mondrian: Modern Masters from the Kroller - Muller Museum" exhibit at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia, which will be held October 19-January 16. This exhibit will feature major works by Georges Seurat, Pablo Picasso, Ferdinand Leger, Piet Mondrian, and Vincent van Gogh, many never previously exhibited in the United States.

A group of works from The UBS Art Collection, along with works donated to The Museum of Modern Art, will be on view at MoMA's new galleries in New York February 4-April 25. The exhibition, entitled: "Contemporary Voices: Works From The UBS Art Collection", will feature 70 works - 44 donated to MoMA with approximately 35 loaned by UBS. The UBS Art Collection is widely considered to be one of the most important corporate assemblages of contemporary art worldwide.
