North Carolina company acquires Camp & Company.

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 28, 1996--On June 28, 1996, Laureate Realty Services Inc. closed on the asset acquisition of Birmingham, Alabama based Camp & Company for an undisclosed sum. This acquisition allows Camp & Company's namesake founder and president, Ehney A. Camp, III, to retire

Camp & Company currently has two offices in the state of Alabama, in Birmingham and Mobile. William M. Silsbee, Jr. will be based in Birmingham, and will remain as Senior Vice President of the Alabama region for Laureate Realty Services, Inc. Richard S. Brinson will also remain as Senior Vice President for Laureate's Mobile office location. These offices will continue their coverage of Alabama, Mississippi, and the panhandle of Florida.

Camp & Company, now Laureate Realty, specializes in commercial mortgage banking. The company was formed in 1974 and has originated in excess of $1.5 billion in commercial financing during its 21 years in business, and presently services approximately $530 million in mortgage loans for insurance company investors.
